About Village Hall Society
Located in the centre of the village, Chartham Hatch Village Hall provides a focal point for the social activities of ‘The Hatch’ and the surrounding communities.
The Chartham Hatch Village Hall Society is a group of villagers that meet each month to administer and maintain the hall.
To raise funds the Society also runs a number of events throughout the year such as The 100 Club, Wine & Wisdom, Barbecue, Craft Fayre etc. Details appear on the notice board at the hall or in the occasional Chartham Hatch Village Hall Society Newsletter. The hall is available to hire at very competitive rates by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or ringing 07927 886229.
The hall was previously the Village School and a book entitled “Chartham Hatch – From Village School to Village Hall” has been recently published with the history and memories of both the school and hall. This A4 book, which has 156 pages and over 250 photographs, also includes sections on the history of Chartham Hatch, the Hall Bell Tower and the former Social Club. Copies are available from 731513/738678/738678/731395. This was part of a Heritage Lottery Funded project, the final part of which was the production of a DVD ‘Chartham Hatch – A Kentish Village – Seven Stories’ launched on the 26th April 2009, featuring areas of the village which have now disappeared.
